| This swinging cradle is made from oak. It is finished with hand rubbed Danish oil for a soft satin patina. The bed is at a convenient height to avoid bending and is covered with padded waterproof vinyl and is easily removeable for cleaning. A large storage area lies below it. The top section of the front rail can be unlatched and folded down to allow easier access. The axle rotates on copper bushings to prevent wear or binding. |
| In a rocking cradle the force of inertia causes a baby to roll in the direction of motion when the direction changes. This does not occur in a swinging cradle because centrifugal force is directed downward. |
